#20 – October 2024 – End of month report

I’ve taken the plunge, well, more like I started to dip my toes in the water. I’m still very uncertain about the outlook, but as I write this, I’m witnessing the final day of the U.S. campaign, while reading about the ever-growing, tangible impacts of global warming and its ripple effects on the profitability of the insurance, consumer, and production markets. I’m not about to abandon tradition and suddenly claim to be a great expert, but these combined observations give me reason to sharpen my skepticism about the validity of analytical trading. It seems far wiser to remain cautious, letting events unfold naturally while staying alert to any emerging opportunities.

It looks like we’ll be closing the year with a very modest overall increase, not quite like previous years, but, barring any major setbacks, we will have navigated a major stress test of the assumptions underlying my trading strategy. On the whole, I just want to extend my gratitude to those who continue on this journey with me; I truly hope and expect you’ll be rewarded in the end. And for those who left when their balance was in the red, I’m genuinely sorry. I understand there are countless reasons someone might need to make the tough call to realize losses. I’m fortunate enough to be able to hold on, and I hope this resilience through stagnation will ultimately bear fruit.

Good trading.

Alex
