As another month draws to a close, we bid farewell to 2023, a year that, overall, posed fewer challenges for both value and growth traders compared to its predecessor. The portfolio has demonstrated resilient growth, unaffected by the ebb and flow of the FTSE100.
Mid-month, I was optimistic about the prospect of the dividend surpassing 3%, therefore I’m thrilled to report that it ultimately exceeded 4%. Despite the delay in distributing the November dividend due to eToro’s revised copy trading procedure, I’m pleased to confirm that the anticipated issues have not materialized in the majority of cases. Consequently, this month’s distribution will encompass the November dividend as well. This will provide you with a substantial 6.45% in available cash to manage as you see fit. While I always appreciate reinvestment in the copy, I recognize that this time of year may prompt some of you to allocate these funds differently.
In my ongoing effort to offer a clearer snapshot of the portfolio’s status, I’ve made further adjustments to the charts. This month, the focus was on the percentage growth chart, introducing benchmark banding that I believe is more fitting for future assessments, projecting a range of 40% ± 10% as an acceptable parameter.
For your convenience, the newsletter is also available on the eToro feed. The Portfolio page features updated versions of all charts and the eToro-produced monthly report (as soon as it becomes available).
May all of you and yours have a safe, peaceful and prosperous 2024
Alex
